Medical Devices: What Are They Worth And What Do Your Users Think Of Them?

MATCH Hand and Statistical

What will be covered in the workshop?

In this specific workshop we present inventors, research managers, investment decision-makers and marketing strategists with two important sets of tools – the Health Economic Tool and the User Needs Guide. Since health economics plays an increasing role in the adoption of medical technology, the session begins with an introduction to economic evaluation. The Health Economic Tool is then presented to help product development managers identify the key value-adding aspects of a new device to predict suitability for adoption within its target health sector. This information is essential at the feasibility stage.

While much is made of the need to involve users, there is limited guidance as to whom to approach and when.  While there is lots of time for analysis once the device is on the market, crucial decisions are often made under extreme time pressure and severe financial constraints. We will present strategies for identifying and then accessing appropriate users throughout the product development cycle.

Who should attend:

  • Industry and investors seeking informed product development decisions based on health technology assessment.
  • R&D Managers wishing to integrate health economic considerations into New Product Development Systems.
  • Marketing Managers seeking to differentiate products based on cost-effectiveness.
  • Sales Managers seeking to articulate the value proposition of innovative products.

Attendees will receive:

  1. Case Study / Demonstration - highlighting practical applications
  2. A complimentary copy of the Health Economics Tool and training
  3. An opportunity for hands-on use of the Health Economics Tool
  4. A complimentary copy of the MATCH/NPSA User Guide
