The Three MATCH Perspectives
At the core of the MATCH approach is recognition of 3 key perspectives on medical device product value.
First, manufacturers bring them to market through a series of decisions and processes. As well as returning a profit, a product must fulfil specific user needsand meet regulatory and legal requirements.
Second, to set the legal standards, Governmental agencies (amalgamated here under the 'regulatory' banner) must view products in terms of safety, efficacy and, increasingly, value for money.
Third, users' perspectives must be reflected in this view of value, since their difficulties are 'all' too evident in discarded or modified equipment, and in repeated procedures.
